In short: the Census100™ lists the brands AI engines name most when buyers ask which product to choose, category by category. It is measured from real answers, not voted on, and no brand pays to be listed. It launches with five categories: project management, CRM, help desk, email marketing and social media management software. The first lists are in preparation.
How it is measured
For each category we ask a fixed set of buyer questions, published with each list, on ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Google AI Mode, on at least two separate dates. Brands are ranked by the share of answers that name them as an option, a recommendation or an example. How often answers link to each brand's own site is shown alongside, as a separate number.
AI answers vary from one day to the next, so a list is published only when the rankings from separate dates agree. Every brand is shown with a range, and brands whose ranges overlap are shown as level. If a category's results are not stable enough, we publish the counts without a ranking.
Why it is called the 100
Each category lists up to 10 brands. The list launches with five categories, so it starts with up to 50 brands, and the 100 builds up as categories are added.
Independence
No brand pays to be listed, to be left off, or to change its place. There is no application. A brand gets on by being the one AI engines name, and by meeting the entry bar described in how to get on the Census100.
